On this episode of Whispers of the Soul, we are joined by Trina Kavanagh-Thomas, an Energy & Wellbeing Mentor who combines her skills in personal training, health coaching and energy work to help stressed out leaders turn their dreams into reality. She specialises in supporting high achieving individuals to reach their personal and business goals by deciphering recurring dreams, thoughts and patterns which are often tied to stress in the mind and body. By setting intuitive SMART goals, healing, well-being and aligning energy, Trina guides her clients towards instant results, enabling them to effortlessly create and live their dream lives.
YOUR BODY KNOWS THE ANSWER
We begin by looking at Trina’s background and how her work as a Personal Trainer evolved into what she is doing now. Trina explains how her heart wasn’t in what she was doing, even though she could see results. She recognised that she wasn’t happy in her job and set out to uncover what she really wanted to do. This led her to go into Health Coaching to help people change their mindset, and despite it working she felt a pull towards going deeper. Whilst health coaching, Trina found that she was channelling and bringing spirit into her sessions. She then went on a journey into the world of energy but again, she felt this wasn’t quite right, so she decided to combine all her skills. After some soul searching about her own personal wounds, Trina moved through self-punishment and began to find her own ‘why’ and to follow her soul’s purpose.
Trina uses movements of the body to help her clients release emotions and she believes that, with the recent heavy focus on mindset, we have lost that aspect of working with our bodies in the 3D. She reminds us that eating patterns can be a manifestation of buried emotions, and when we really feel what it’s like to truly be in our bodies, we can become more sensitive to triggers. By tuning in to our stomachs, our overall stress can be reduced. We can camouflage the true triggers by masking with food and therefore must learn to work with our bodies. Trina believes in empowering people to know their own bodies and finding their own answers. She also helps her clients to calm their nervous system and gives them an intuitive SMART goal, to help start changing things straightaway.
We talk about combining a sense of trust with a sense of self-agency, and Sally reminds us that our intuition is our higher intelligence, and we must also draw upon this. We must let go and release the programming and habitual ways of behaving and thinking, whilst not negating ourselves for the conditions we have experienced. We all agree that we must practice self-love and self-compassion.
We discuss how we can cut ourselves off from others, and this is a common theme for many people particularly since lockdown. Trina describes her own experiences with an attachment and how drawing a particular oracle card appeared to nudge her to investigate this. She talks about the sister wound and the witch wound, and Sibby reminds us that our sisterhood was destroyed throughout the ages, and we are now being called to gather with other women. We also talk about the emphasis on authenticity and how we are being called to show up as ourselves and be more honest in our connections and interactions. Trina believes that we can fear our sisters but we need to walk through the discomfort so we can reestablish the sisterhood. Sally describes how our conditioning has led us to feel this fear of being persecuted or judged, but that we are now learning to realise what is ours and what has, in fact, been put upon us by others.
Sibby shares her own experience with going back to the ‘wounded child’ within herself and how unhelpful this has been in her own life. This leads us on to discussing recurring dreams and how they tie into unhelpful patterns. Recurring dreams can identify recurring emotions, and Trina believes this can help us address unhelpful patterns or insecurities. She believes that if the nervous system is calm, we can address these problems by tuning in to where these recurring patterns manifest in our bodies. We can receive messages from our bodies when we look after them. Trina shares that looking after our basic needs can help us dramatically, and she recommends tuning in to our own needs on any particular day, emphasising the importance of quality of our sleep. She says that our bodies contain a plethora of information, if we would only ask!
We all agree that, as practitioners, we attract the clients who resonate with our own particular ‘soul note’. More and more of us are recognising our individual gifts and unique journeys, and how we can draw upon those to help others. Sometimes we experience the calling to begin our work with others before we have achieved our formal qualifications, and in this way the 5D and 3D can work together to help us serve our true purpose in life.
We talk about engaging with what is naturally coming up and what we are intuitively leaning towards, rather than using our brains to pick a career route which then turns out to be wrong for us. We all have a wealth of experience, including our past/parallel lives, which is what makes us who we are. Trina believes that combining the divine feminine and the divine masculine with authenticity is the way forward for all of us in the healing arena. Sibby reminds us that our bodies are our 3D representations in this world, so we need to listen to the body’s wisdom and intelligence, which is what Trina aims to do in her work.
