Are You an Energy Sensitive?


Episode 16 we are talking about some of the trials and tribulations of being an energy sensitive! A topic that so many people can relate to, who may have been called sensitive by others or who identify as an Empath or introvert. Here are a few key areas from our discussion:

ARE YOU AN ENERGY SENSITIVE?

  • Do you take on other peoples emotions and internalise them? It’s an easy thing to do, particularly in childhood when you don’t understand you have this ability. You have a heightened awareness to what is going on - with other people and places.

  • You can over-give and try and fix things for other people because you are so good at putting yourself in other people’s shoes - hence the empathy! So the danger is forgetting your own needs and potentially your own values in favour of the other person’s.

  • What can you do differently so you don’t take it on. If it’s not yours pass it back, is it your responsibility? Etc…

  • Do you struggle with anxiety? This could also be related to the way you pick up on energy. The positive is you have very finely tuned instincts!

  • If you keep trying to help someone that isn’t really helping themselves then that person isn’t learning their life lessons and you are taking that on - and giving a message to the universe that you are happy to do this.

  • Energetic feedback loop - becomes habitual so you get into a routine of what’s expected so if one of you (i.e. the empath) is doing more or giving more, that pattern holds energetically, so it’s harder then to change it.

  • So what are the signs of being an Empath? You might not want to be around big crowds, you’ll need your own time to recharge your batteries! You can get a vibe off other people too! You may avoid conflict or feel anxious around extroverts or people who can be forwards or really direct.

  • How can you feel protected? Don’t do it from a place of fear! Sally gives some great advice on how to change your thinking on this. Don’t try and protect yourself by shrinking. You’ve got to stay within your own energy field and hold it (stand your ground).

  • When you change how you deal with things from the inside, it changes your relationships and experiences on the outside!

  • Not knowing who you are - you are so good at focusing on other people and trying to ‘fit in’ that you don’t know who you are.

  • Is part of our evolution - is being more empathic playing a role? To promote a unity mindset - a oneness. we are all susceptible to energy because that’s who we are and what we are comprised of. Is it just about having an awareness of this.

  • It helps to look at your life through the energetic lens - in addition to other modalities such as psychology, life experiences, sharing with others etc…

  • 3 pin plug - there’s an earthing wire, a neutral one and a live wire. If you can’t ground it or neutralise it - it will blow!
